As an artist of Puerto Rican descent raised in the southern United States, place and culture play a dominant role in my work. I make work that explores my ancestry and family, my existence between two cultures, and how this shapes my identity. My work references this duality of belonging to two different cultures yet not fully fitting into either one.

Elisa Dore was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to a Puerto Rican mother and white father. She has had an active art practice in printmaking for the last seven years and has recently returned to Atlanta to pursue an MFA at Georgia State University.
