DESCRIPTION:Kicking off the Navidad Season with IBA is Jose Nogueras!\n\nJosé Nogueras is one of Puerto Rico’s most versatile songwriters and singers. He has managed to reach the top of the music charts (Hit parade) in rock\, ballad\, Creole music and even tropical music.\n\nCheo Feliciano\, Rubén Blades\, Hector Lavoe\, Ismael Miranda\, Willie Colón\, Gilberto Santarrosa\, Manny Manuel\, Shakira\, Danny Rivera\, Los Hispanos\, Fernando Villalona and Olga Tañón are some of the artists who have performed his compositions.\n\nNogueras has been awarded over the years with important awards such as; “Composer of the Year” (Billboard Magazine)\, “Singer of the Year” (Agüeybana and Cemí Awards)\, “Christmas Production of the Year” and his compositions have always been distinguished by their simplicity\, depth and universal feeling.\n\nBorn in the town of Mayaguez where he was born on June 18\, 1951\, son of José Nogueras Chapel (QPD)\, from the town of Añasco and Milka Vega Soto from the city of cucumber\, San Sebastián. From an early age he felt a passion for music\, an inspiration that he has always channeled through the instrument he enjoys the most… the guitar. His father was a simple and humble human being\, with an extraordinary talent for poetry and perhaps it has been that vein that has allowed the development of José Nogueras as an author.\n\nAt the age of eight he came to reside in the city of Rio Piedras where he feels like an adopted son. During his school years\, between the ages of 8 and 16\, he participated in a number of musical groups. At the age of 17 he began his foray into music professionally.\n\nTheir record productions have been characterized by their excellent quality\, both technically and musically. Each of them is framed in a concept\, distinguished by its sensitivity and innovative way of harmonizing the topics.\n\nJosé Nogueras’ music has not only managed to captivate the Puerto Rican public with its contagious rhythm and flavor\, but has also been recognized in other Latin American countries and in the Hispanic sector of the United States.
